To obtain a medicinal composition having platelet production-inducing activity and containing a polypeptide useful for supply of platelet to diseases accompanying thrombocytopenia as an active ingredient, and to provide a method for producing the platelet utilizing the polypeptide and a method, for screening a substance promoting production of the polypeptide, or the like.
The medicinal composition comprises at least one kind of polypeptide selected from the group consisting of (a) a polypeptide composed of a 1-95 amino acid sequence in an amino acid sequence represented by sequence No.1 and (b) a polypeptide composed of an amino acid sequence in which one or a plurality of amino acids are deleted, substituted or added from/for/to the 1-95 amino acid sequence (a) and having platelet production-inducing activity as an active ingredient.
