To reduce the cost of a platform door while maintaining a structure capable of driving a door body to open or close corresponding to railroad vehicle organization of a train.
Vehicles in prescribed positions in a train incoming to a platform always have the same number of entrance doors regardless of the train, and vehicles in other positions have different numbers of entrance doors according to the train. The platform door device 10 includes a first drive section for driving door bodies 18, 19 in positions where the vehicles in the prescribed positions stop and a second drive section for driving door bodies 35, 36, 37 in positions where the vehicles in other sections stop. The first drive section has a drive pulley, a following pulley and a belt member to which door bodies 18, 19 are connected as well as being hung around the drive pulley and the following pulley. The second drive section has a drive pinion provided on a drive shaft of a motor which is fixed to the door bodies 35, 36, 37 and a rack fixed to a header box.
