To provide a platform gate device which can provide information including visual information shut off by the platform gate device to a passenger in a railroad vehicle.
The platform gate device includes: a plurality of door pockets which are erected on the railroad line-side edge end of a platform which is used for the passenger to get on or off from the railroad vehicle, and in each of which at least one door is housed so as to be moved backward and forward along the traveling direction of the railroad vehicle; and doors which are used for forming a fence for separating a railroad line-side space from a platform-side space together with the door pockets when projected from the door pockets and used for opening boarding/alighting passages for passengers of the railroad vehicle when housed in the door pockets. An information display means facing the railroad line-side space is arranged in the upper part of the platform gate device.
