To provide a plating method for a carbon material, which improves the adhesiveness, or the like.
The plating method for the carbon material includes: (1) a cationic treatment step of cationizing the surface of a carbon fiber by immersing the carbon material into a cation surfactant solution; (2) an Sn-Pd catalyst immersion step of immersing the carbon material A which has been subjected to the cationic treatment step into a colloidal solution of Pd and Sn thereby to make the surface of the carbon material A adsorb Pd and Sn; and (3) an accelerator treatment step of immersing the carbon material B which has been subjected to the Sn-Pd catalyst immersion step into an acid solution thereby to dissolve Sn out of Pd and Sn which have been adsorbed in the Sn-Pd catalyst immersion step and make the carbon material B adsorb only Pd.
