Abstract:
PURPOSE: To form a high-quality plating suitable for a work.
CONSTITUTION: A plating film is formed on the inner peripheral surface of a cylinder 1a of a cylinder block while a treating liquid is made to flow to inner and outer flow passages 7, 8 of an electrode 5 in the state of inserting this electrode 5 into the cylinder 1a. At this time, the cylinder 1a is formed to a truncated cone shape expanding from a crank case side toward a combustion chamber side and on the other hand, the electrode 5 is formed to a truncated cone shape of the diameter gradually increasing from the crank case side toward the combustion chamber side in the state that the electrode is held inserted into the cylinder 1a. The flow passage 8 is so formed as to be gradually narrowed from the crank case side toward the combustion chamber side. As a result, the flow velocity of the treating liquid flowing in the flow passage 8 is increased gradually from the crank case side toward the combustion chamber side and the current density is increased, by which the plating film of the thickness gradually increasing from the crank case side toward the combustion chamber side is formed on the cylinder 1a.
