Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a plating soln. composition giving a film of uniform thickness and improving stripping, inferior corrosion resistance and other trouble due to conventional ununiform thickness, by adding a prescribed percentage of a fluorocarbon surfactant. CONSTITUTION:A tinning bath contg. 15+ or -5g/l stannous chloride, 45+ or -5g/l potassium pyrophosphate, 3+ or -1g/l potassium tartrate and 0.5g/l gelatin is prepared as a conventional tinning soln. composition. To the composition is added 0.05-1.0% fluorocarbon surfactant such as commercially available FC. A tin film 5 is formed on a rectifier fabricated by connecting 3 slag leads 2 to a molded glass part 1 by tinning in the resulting tinning bath under conventional external tinning conditions. Since the thickness of a film to be formed by tinning can be controlled to a desired value, said conventional defects are eliminated, and a high quality tin film is obtd.
