When only a reset key 26 is operated in a recording mode (steps 28, 31 and 40), an address instantaneously moves to the beginning of performance information, the recording mode is cleared and switched to reproduction mode, and the performance information is read out from the beginning (steps 41, 42 and 43). When the reset key 26 and a forward key 23 are operated simultaneously (steps 28, 31 and 36), the address moves instantaneously to the ending of the performance information; the reproduction mode is cleared and switched to the recording mode; and the performance information can be written from the ending (step 37, 38 and 39).
