PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter which has excellent backwashability and is repetitively usable and to drastically suppress the generation of radioactive waste by supporting a pleat type filter body formed to a cylindrical shape by repetitively folding in filter membranes on its inner peripheral surface and constituting a double layer filter structure which coats the outer peripheral surface thereof and supporting filter aids as a precoating layer. SOLUTION: The outermost surface of a pleat type filter body is provided with a precoating layer supporting body 4 for supporting powder ion exchange resins as the precoating layer L. The double layer filter structure composed of the filter body 2 and the precoating layer L is obtd. The filtration and partial desalting effect are played by the precoating layer L. The precision filtration effect is left with the filter body 2. The amt. of the powder ion exchange resins and the generation amt. of the used powder ion exchange resins by backwashing operation may be decreased by thinly forming the precoating layer L while maintaining good iron removal performance. The filtration area of metal clad is increased and the burden of the filter body 2 is lessened by the buffer effect of the precoating layer L. The number of the backwashing times of the pleat type filter body is decreased and the working efficiency of a condensate filtration column is enhanced.
