To provide a plier easily supporting a fishing rod and to be easily carried in the state of supporting the fishing rod.
A pair of rods 1 and 2 are crossed and overlapped and are rotatably pivotally attached by shaft screws 3 and 4. Handle portions 5 and 6 are fixed to the pair of rods 1 and 2 on rear sides of the shaft screws 3 and 4, respectively. In the inside of the pair of rods 1 and 2 with the handle portions 5 and 6 fixed thereto, both ends of a spring member 7 opening and energizing distal end sides of the rods 1 and 2 are provided. In the outside of the handle portions 5 and 6, finger abutment surfaces 5b and 6b are formed, the finger abutment surfaces 5b and 6b are formed into shallow recessed portions a, and a plurality of antiskid projections 5c and 6c are formed on the finger abutment surfaces 5b and 6b. Rear side end portions 5d and 6d of the handle portions 5 and 6 are formed into curved shapes projecting in an end portion direction.
