Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve ventillation effect by forming a ventillation passage on a plug cap which is attached to an ignition plug for the waterproofness of a plug hole, so as to communicate the plug hole with the outside, and attaching a filter means having ventillation performance and preventing entrance of water, on an outward opening of the ventillation passage.
SOLUTION: A plug cap 1 which has wholly substantially cylindrical form is attached to a plug hole 3 formed on a cylinder head 2 of a DOHC engine. The plug cap 1 has a cap main body 4 housing a connection element between a high tension cord and a spark plug SP. A ventillation passage 41 composed of a recession 44 and a ventillation hole 45 is formed on the cap main body 4, for communicating the plug hole 3 with the outside in parallel to the axial direction of the cap main body 4. A sealing member 5 housing a filter is formed on the cap main body 4, which filter serves as a filtering means for making air flow through the ventillation passage 41, and preventing entrance of water. Ventillation is performed sufficiently in the plug hole 3, for improving durability.
