Abstract:
PURPOSE: To restrain noise caused by shockwave generated at the front end side of a plunger in association with the operation of a plunger pump.
CONSTITUTION: A plunger 62 has an insert hole 74 axially formed therein. A crosshead 20 has a projecting shaft part 70 extending toward the front end of the cross-head 20 and inserted in the insertion hole 74 so that the center lined of the shaft part 70 is extended along that of the plunger 62 and the shaft part 70 is prevented from making contact with the plunger 62. A resilient member 76 has an axially intervening part 78 and a radially intervening part 80 which are filled in an axial gap and a radial gap between the crosshead 20 and the plunger 62, respectively, and accordingly, the crosshead 20 and the plunger 62 are coupled together.
