To provide a plunger hydraulic type continuously variable transmission having a plunger for a hydraulic pump and a plunger for a hydraulic motor which are provided in one cylinder block, capable of reducing thrust force acting to a swash plate for the hydraulic motor.
A plunger hydraulic type continuously variable transmission containing a so-called HST (Hydrostatic Transmission) includes a gear pair 5 for extracting rotational power out of a swash plate 14 for a hydraulic motor. The gear pair 5 has a first gear 5a integrally provided with the swash plate 14 for the hydraulic motor and a second gear 5b meshed with the first gear 5a. In the gear pair, a twist angle of a meshed part of the first gear 5a and the second gear 5b is set so that at least a part of a thrust load acting to the swash plate 14 is canceled when an input shaft 9 is rotated to transmit a torque to the swash plate 14 for the hydraulic motor.
