To reduce the noise and vibration of a pump and improve the reliability of the pump and miniaturize the pump.
A plunger pump 2 discharges fuel by the reciprocating movement of a plunger 21 and is provided with metal diaphragm type dampers 17 and 19 on the fuel entrance side and fuel exit side to reduce the pressure pulsation of fuel, and the metal diaphragm type dampers 17 and 19 are provided with pressure receiving chambers 33 and 39, which receive fuel pressure, back pressure chambers 59 and 65 containing gas and metal diaphragms 61 and 67 for specifying the pressure receiving chambers and back pressure chambers respectively. Since the metal diaphragm type dampers are provided at a fuel entrance side and fuel exit side, the noise and vibration caused by pressure pulsation are reduced. The use of metal diaphragms as bulk heads reduces a deterioration against liquid fuel and gaseous back pressure gas, leading to high reliability and long service life of the plunger pump.
