The pneumatic radial-ply tire for heavy load includes a first belt layer 7A configured so that θ2-5°≤θ1≤θ2+10°, where θ1 is its inclining angle with respect to the tire circumferential direction T of reinforcing cords fa, and θ2 is the inclining angle of a second belt layer 7B with respect to the tire circumferential direction T of reinforcing cords fb. An edge cushion layer 8 structured so that organic fiber cords g oriented inclining in the tire circumferential direction T are embedded in a rubber layer Z, pinches the edge part 7A1 of the first belt layer 7A from inside and outside, and is arranged extending from the edge part 7A1 to the outside in the tire width direction.
