To provide a pneumatic tire decreasing in road noise and improving in comfortableness.

A belt reinforcing layer 18 formed of highly elastic organic fiber (a tensile elastic modulus of 7.0 Gpa or more) is provided outside a belt layer 16B as an outermost layer to produce a decrease in road noise with the tightening, so-called hooping, effect in a tire peripheral direction. A rigidity regulating layer formed of rubber (with its thickness being 1.0-2.0 times the average diameter of cords of two layers) is provided between adjacent two layers of belt layers 16A, 16B and the belt reinforcing layer 18 to inhibit a decrease in comfortableness due to an increase in rigidity. The result is a decrease in road noise and improvement in comfortableness.
