A plurality of projections 26 are formed on a groove wall 24A on the outside in the tire width direction of a defense groove 24 provided on a shoulder rib 22 with intervals in the tire circumferential direction. When the tire rides over a projection 30 such as the curb, the defense groove rib 22A may be opened. However, the projection 30 such as the curb hits the projections 26, the contact area between the bottom of the defense groove 24 and the projection 30 such as the curb is reduced or becomes zero, and generation of cracks from the bottom of the defense groove 24 is suppressed.
