In a pneumatic tire 2, a ratio Te/Ta of thickness Te of rubber of a side wall 8 in a tire maximum width to thickness Ta of rubber at a center of a tread 4 is 0.12 or more and 0.28 or less. A ratio Te/Tf of the thickness Te to thickness Tf of rubber of a clinch 10 is 0.35 or more and 0.65 or less. Preferably, a ratio Te/Ti of the thickness Te to thickness Ti of rubber of a buttress portion is 0.17 or more and 0.37 or less. A ratio Ti/Ti1 of the thickness Ti to thickness Ti1 of cross-linked rubber of the side wall 8 in the thickness Ti is 2.8 or more and 5.2 or less. A ratio Ti/Tf of the thickness Ti to the thickness Tf is 1.35 or more and 2.35 or less.
