Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of achieving both run-flat durability performance and steering stability performance without deteriorating rolling resistance.SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire 1 comprises: reinforcement rubber layers 10 each of which has a substantially-crescent-shaped meridian cross section, and which are disposed on both side walls 4 in a tire width direction. In unloaded condition with inner pressure of 0 kPa after attachment to a normal rim, when a straight line Lc is orthogonal to a tire equator plane CL at the maximum width part of the tire in the meridian cross section, a straight line La inclined in 10° toward outside of a tire radial direction and a straight line Lb inclined in 10° toward inside of the tire radial direction with respect to the straight line Lc, are drawn from an intersection Q between the straight line Lc and the tire equator plane CL, an arc having a curvature radius RO is created by combining intersection points Oa, Ob, Oc between the respective straight lines La, Lb, Lc and a tire contour, while an arc having a curvature radius RP is created by combining intersection points Pa, Pb, Pc between the respective straight lines La, Lb, Lc and a carcass layer 6, wherein the curvature radius RP is to be made greater than the curvature radius RO.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
