PURPOSE: To improve comfortableness in riding while maintaining lateral rigidity of a pneumatic tire which has a carcass sub-section by setting the length of overlapping in the axial direction of the tire in both end section of belt layer in the axial direction thereof and the winding section of carcass sub-section to the predetermined length.

CONSTITUTION: A carcass sub-section 11 which constitutes a carcass 7 with a carcass main section 10 consists of a folded section 11B which is folded along a winding section 10B of a carcass 10 and a winding section 11A which extends along a main body section 10A of the carcass main section 10. An end R of the winding section 11A is broken off below a tread section 2 with an interval L, and the winding section 11A and an end in axial direction of tire of a belt layer 9 which is provided on its outside are overlapped in an overlapping section 13. The length of the overlapping section 13 is set to not less than 15mm. Consequently, it is possible to obtain such a tire which provides comfortable ride and improved lateral rigidity with a good production efficiency.
