Abstract:
PURPOSE: To save the weight of a tire without impairing keeping up of pneumatic pressure of a tire by a method wherein a composition which contains a modified aliphatic polyamide resin, a crosslinking agent other than an acid and/or a curing resin is applied to a surface of a carcass layer, and crosslinked. CONSTITUTION: For a modified aliphatic polymaide resin, at least a part of an amide group is modified with an alkoxyalkyl group and/or a group having a curing unsaturated bond. When an inner liner layer 3 is arranged inside the carcass layer 2, after halogenating an inner surface of the carcass layer 2 of a green tire consisting of unvulcanized rubber, a modified polyamide resin composition is sprayed or applied thereto. Then, by constituting an air permeation preventive layer with a thin film wherein the green tire is vulcanized, a weight-saved pneumatic tire is manufactured. Further, even when the air permeation preventive layer is provided on an outer peripheral surface of the carcass layer 2, the procedure is carried out according thereto. The air permeation preventive layer after crosslinking is at least 80 deg.C in melting point, at most 25×10<-12> cc.cm/cm<2> .sec.cmHg in air permeation coefficient, and 1-500MPa in Young's modulus.
