To provide a pointer type indicator having a novel taste in comparison with conventional ones.
In the pointer type indicator, a signal control section for rotation amount/speed executes a process of determining a moving amount and a moving speed of a pointer 3. That is to say, when a bezel 12 is operated, the signal control section for rotation amount/speed judges as to whether or not the rotation amount of the bezel 12 is larger than a prescribed value, and whether or not the operation speed is higher than a prescribed speed, based on a bezel rotation detection signal input therein. If such a judgement is made that the rotation amount is small, or the rotation speed is low, the pointer 3 is moved up to a moving target position by every one scale unit. Meanwhile, if it is judged that the rotation amount is large, and the operation speed is high, the pointer 3 is moved widely at one time.
