Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarized light filter with temperature resistance in a manufacturing process.
SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method for the polarized light filter consisting of aligning a mixture of a liquid crystal monomer and a dichroic colorant on a substrate, exposing the monomer with uniform radiation and polymerizing it, the monomer expressed with the following formula 1 (in the formula B expresses a cross-linking group, R expresses a hydrogen atom or a methyl group and M expresses a mesogenic group at least containing a phenyl and/or a cyclohexyl groups) and ensuring a nematic or a smectic phase as a whole.
