Title:
POLARIZING MICROSCOPE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001356276
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a polarizing microscope by which high quenching ratio can be obtained even when an objective lens of high magnifying factor is used.

A sample 13 is irradiated with light flux of predetermined polarizing state in illumination optical systems 10, 11 and 21. The objective lens 14 converges light flux from the sample 13 to form an enlarged image. A polarization means 23 has a predetermined polarization characteristic. A liquid crystal element 101 for rotating a polarization main axis of the light flux is arranged between the illumination optical systems 10, 11 and 21 and the polarization means 23 in a direction for negating rotation of the polarization main axis of the light flux generated by the objective lens 14.
