To provide a polarizing plate having a small dimensional change rate under high temperature and high humidity conditions and high temperature conditions and suppressing leakage of light, and to provide a liquid crystal display device using the polarizing plate.
The polarizing plate with a pressure-sensitive adhesive has a polarizer and a protective film and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on at least one surface of the polarizer. The dimensional change rate in the absorption axis direction of the polarizing plate after the polarizing plate is subjected to a thermal process, while stuck to a glass plate, at 60°C and 90% RH for 150 hours and then left to stand at 25°C and 60% RH for 24 hours, or a dimensional change rate in the absorption axis direction of the polarizing plate after the polarizing plate is subjected to a thermal process, while stuck to a glass plate, at 80°C in a dry state for 150 hours, is -0.03% to +0.03% of the original dimension. The polarizing plate with a pressure-sensitive adhesive has ≤2.4% water content. In the method for manufacturing he liquid crystal display device, the polarizing plate with a pressure-sensitive adhesive subjected to humidity control in an atmosphere at 25°C and 10% RH for 24 hours, is stuck to a liquid crystal cell glass via the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer.
