To provide a polarizing plate protective film having adhesiveness and optical characteristics without irregularity even in a film with a width of 1 meter or more, and having high durability and adhesiveness, to provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a polarizing plate protective film with high safeness in operation and less environmental burden, and to provide a polarizing plate using the polarizing plate protective film, a method for manufacturing the polarizing plate, and a display device using the polarizing plate.
The method for manufacturing a polarizing plate protective film includes surface modification by irradiating the surface of the polarizing plate protective film to be adhered to a polarizer with plasma, wherein a thin film of a polymerizable monomer having a thickness of 0.003 to 0.2 m is formed on the base material surface of the polarizing plate protective film, and then the surface is irradiated with plasma under a pressure near the atmospheric pressure.
