To provide a polarizing and splitting element in which the high selectivity of the element and miniaturization of the element are attained and moldability of elements is raised and the mass-production of two-dimensional photonic structure can be also realized by producing the polarizing and splitting element having two-dimensional photonic crystal structure with polymer system material.
The high selectivity in polarization separation of the polarizing and splitting element is realized by the photonic bandgap effect and the miniaturization of the element is realized by transfer-molding the two-dimensional crystal structure which is formed by periodic structure in which there is reflective index difference of at least 0.3 or more on polymer system material using a transferring mold and the mass-production of the elements is realized by raising the moldability of the elements while using polymer system material and by simplifying the producing process of the elements with the transferring molding.
