Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for an operation for removing a polishing agent and to obtain a satisfactory cleaning effect by fixing the polishign agent on a base and polishing the surface of a photosensitive material while the polishing agent is held in contact with the surface of the photosensitive material.

CONSTITUTION: The polishing member is constituted of a base 4 consisting of a resin film, the polishing agent 6 and an adhesive agent 5 for fixing the agent 6 to the base. 4. The polishing member constituted in the above-mentioned manner is so disposed that the agent 6 contacts with the surface of the photosensitive body 7. The respective particles of the agent 6 successively scratch the surface of the body 7 when the polishing member is moved in an arrow A direction. The toner and oxides, etc. on the surface of the photosensitive body are successively removed if the surface of said body is filmed or ozone-oxidized. The scratches of the suitable size and depth to obtain the satisfactory cleaning effect are uniformly provided to the surface of the photosensitive body by the above-mentioned method. The need for the operation for removing the polishing agent and lubricating agent is eliminated.
