Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject compound having high solubility in water and excellent stability, causing little side actions and useful as an anti-inflammatory drug by clathrating a glucocorticoid with a γ-cyclodextrin having a specific polymerization degree.
CONSTITUTION: The objective compound can be produced by clathrating a glucocorticoid with a γ-cyclodextrin having a polymerization degree of 2-4. The corticoid is preferably fluorometholone and the dextrin is preferably a polymer containing 2-4 γ-cyclodextrin molecules and produced e.g. by crosslinking γ-cyclodextrin with epichlorohydrin.
