Abstract:

To obtain a new polymer by making the best use of the unusual molecular behavior of rotaxane.

This poly[3]rotaxane is a poly[3]rotaxane having a main chain structure in which the main chain itself is not linked by a covalent bond but by a mechanical bond based on a topological arrangement. In such a structure of the main chain, the intrinsic mechanical character of rotaxane unit is reflected as it is in the full molecular chain and physical properties which have not been known conventionally are considered to develop.
