Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I and/or formula II (X is H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or halogen).
EXAMPLE: 5H,10H,17H,20H-Quino[2,3-b]quino[2',3';6,7]quino[3,2-h]acridine-7,12,19, 22-tetraone.
USE: Pigment exhibiting deep violet color.
PROCESS: The objective compound is prepared by the intramolecular cyclization of the acridonecarboxylic acid derivative of formula III (R is H or lower alkyl) [e.g. 2,2'-(1,3-phenylenediimino)-bis(9-acridone-3-carboxylic acid), etc.] in the presence of preferably 0.1W10wt% of a condensation agent (e.g. polyphosphoric acid, etc.).
