Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a polyamide polymer composed of an amino monomer having a hexafluoro-isopropylidene connection group or a 1-phenyl-2,2,2- trifluoroethane connection group and having improved physical, mechanical and chemical characteristics.

CONSTITUTION: The objective polymer has at least a structural unit represented by formula (wherein R is CF3 or phenyl and A is an alkylene, phenylene, naphthalene or a divalent org. group composed of bis- and polyphenylene type compd.) obtained by forming an amide condensed product of a 4,4- bis[2-(aminophenyl) hexafluoroisopropyl]diphenyl ether (A) and a dibasic org. acid or its amide forming derivative (B) and has a wt. average mol.wt. of at least 5000. This polymer is subjected to cast molding to be used as a coating member of a wire or the like or a slot liner of a car.
