Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide modified semiaromatic polyamide resin pellets which effectively prevent the occcurrence of blocking in a hopper of a molding machine and enable a stable supply to the machine. SOLUTION: The pellets comprise (A) 60-90 pts.wt. at least one semiaromatic polyamide having an intrinsic viscosity (measured in 30 deg.C conc sulfuric acid) of 0.5-3.0 dl/g and a melting point of 280 deg.C or higher and (B) 10-40 pts.wt. modified ethylene/α-olefin copolymer prepared by modifying an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer having a density of 0.85-0.95 g/cm3 with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative. Ingredient (A) is present as a continuous phase and ingredient (B), as a disperse phase. When the pellet is washed with hot xylene and then micropores on the surface are observed with a scanning electron microscope with a magnification of 3,000, the area of micropores accounts for 20% or lower.
