Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an amine-terminated curing composition for polyamide resins useful for curing adhesive epoxy resin compositions and compounded with deaminated bis-(p-aminocyclohexyl)methane composition (DeAms).
SOLUTION: This polyamine curing agent consists of a combination of an aliphatic monoacid, a dimer acid, a polyethyleneamine and a piperazine ring- contg. polyamine as an N-aminoalkylpiperazine with the piperazine or with an alkyl chain being a 2-6C alkyl chain, wherein the equivalent ratio for the aliphatic monoacid and the dimer acid is about (0.001:1) to about (1:1), the molar ratio of the piperazine ring-contg. polyamine to the polyethyleneamine is about (0.1:1) to about (1:1), and the ratio of the number of moles of the polyamine to the equivalent of the acids is about (0.6:1) to about (1.2:1). The DeAms is compounded at 2-40 wt.% based on a polyamine.
