EXAMPLE: Octadecane-1,18-dicarboxylic acid diglycidyl ester.

USE: An epoxy resin powder paint having remarkably improved chalking resistance, a reactive agent for imparting flexibility to an epoxy resin and for preparating an epoxy resin composition having excellent thermal shock resistance, etc. when cured, an intermediate for an ultraviolet-curing paint or ink, and a hardener for a urethane resin.

PROCESS: The compound of formula I is prepared by reacting a compound of formula V (R' is a group corresponding to R wherein glycidyl group is substituted with H) (some of which are novel) with an epihalohydrin.
