Title:
POLYCRYSTALLINE DIAMOND CONSTRUCTIONS HAVING OPTIMIZED MATERIAL COMPOSITION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2017141507
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polycrystalline diamond (PCD) material that displays improved and optimized combined properties of durability, wear resistance, low residual stress and thermal stability for use in complex wear and drilling environments, making the combined properties well suited for desired final use.SOLUTION: Diamond bonded constructions include a diamond body comprising intercrystalline bonded diamond and interstitial regions. The body has a working surface and an interface surface, and may be joined to a metallic substrate. The body has a gradient diamond volume content greater than about 1.5 percent, where the diamond content at the interface surface is less than 94 percent and increases as moving toward the working surface.SELECTED DRAWING: None
