Title:
POLYCRYSTALLINE RAW MATERIAL AND SUPPORTING JIG FOR THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3721450
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely support a raw material and to safely melt the raw material until the raw material is completely melted, by clamping a polycrystalline raw material with an operation for closing plural supporting means of a supporting jig and at a midway point of the melting of the raw material, further clamping the residual unmelted raw material with an operation for bringing each of the plural supporting means into its most closed state, to divide the residual raw material into residual parts and to allow the residual parts to fall into a crucible.
SOLUTION: This supporting jig has plural supporting means 14 each of which is used for supporting a polycrystalline raw material 1 and consists of a connecting member 12, a claw member 15 and an overlapping member 16. In each of the supporting means 14, the claw member 15 is closed to the inner side with gravity acting on the overlapping member 16 to surely support the polycrystalline raw material 1. Also, a projection 19 is placed on the connecting member 12 at a position being somewhat apart from a supporting point 13 in the direction toward the claw member 15, and another projection 20 corresponding to the projection 19 is placed on the bottom of a frame 11 at a position in the vicinity of the supporting point 13 of the connecting member 12, to limit the extent of closing of the claw member 15. When the melting of the polycrystalline raw material 1 progresses, each of such connecting members 12 of the plural supporting means 14 is rotated to the limit position by gravity acting on the corresponding one of such overlapping members 16 to bring the corresponding one of such claw members 15 to a most closed state and thereby the residual unmelted polycrystalline raw material 1 is divided into two residual parts la and 1b so that each of the residual parts la and 1b is rotated to the inner side, to release the residual parts la and 1b from the claw members 15, respectively, and to allow them to fall into a crucible.
