To provide a method for processing a polyester/cotton cloth to give a cloth having durable water-absorption and antistatic effect and provide a processed article.
The method for processing a cloth made of polyester and cotton comprises (1) a step to apply a water-absorbing antistatic monomer to a cloth and fixing to the cloth by reaction and, subsequent to the step 1, (2) a step to apply a polymer emulsion having durable water-absorption and antistaticity to the cloth. The invention further provides a processed article produced by the method. The water-absorbing antistatic monomer is at least one substance selected from water-soluble acrylate, methacrylate, diacrylate, dimethacrylate and their modified products and the polymer emulsion having durable water-absorption and antistaticity is an emulsion of dimethylpolysiloxane or its modified product or an emulsion of a water-soluble polyester resin or its modified product.
