Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester fiber for artificial hair in which a smooth texture near to the human hair is provided while having high flame resistance, its manufacturing method, and a fibrous strand for hair and a hair ornament product containing the same.SOLUTION: A polyester fiber for artificial hair contains a polyester resin, a brominated epoxy flame retardant and an antimony compound 10. The polyester resin is a polyalkylene terephthalate and/or copolyester mainly comprising a polyalkylene terephthalate. The antimony compound is a compound containing pentavalent antimony at a pH of 3-10, and an average diagonal width of the antimony compound is 0.5 μm or less in a fiber cross section 100. A manufacturing method includes a step of melting and kneading a polyester resin composition containing the polyester resin, the brominated epoxy flame retardant and the antimony compound with an extruder. In a melting and kneading step, a ratio Q/R of a discharge rate Q (kg/time) of the extruder to a screw speed R (rpm) is 1.8 or less.
