Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film for protection of a polarizer, which is a biaxially oriented polyester film but shows no interference colors and which can give a high-quality display without a white appearance when used for a display.SOLUTION: The polyester film for protection of a polarizer comprises: a laminated polyester film in which a layer (A layer) formed of a thermoplastic resin A and a layer (B layer) formed of a thermoplastic resin B are alternately laminated into three or more layers; and a coating layer disposed on an outermost surface of the laminated polyester film. The polyester film shows a retardation (Re) of 400 nm at a wavelength of 590 nm, a reflection brightness L*(SCI) of 30%, and L*(SCE) satisfying formula (1): L*(SCE)≤L*(SCI)/10. In formula (1), L*(SCI) and L*(SCE) are values obtained by measuring on a glass surface side of a sample composed of glass/adhesive layer/polyester film for protection of a polarizer/black ink.SELECTED DRAWING: None
