Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PET container which is suppressed in coloring and includes excellent preservability for contents and a method of manufacturing it.
SOLUTION: The polyester resin container has a coating including amorphous carbon on an internal surface. A thickness of the coating is 200 to 800 angstroms and a Δb* value is 2 to 7. The polyester resin container 10 is put in a plasma chemical vapor deposition (CVD) device 1 using microwaves, and the inside of the device 1 is kept at a degree of vacuum of 1 to 50 Pa. A parent material containing a gaseous hydrocarbon compound is fed into the container 10 at a flow rate of 0.1 to 0.8 sccm/cm2 per surface area of the container. The microwaves of 150 to 600 W are radiated to the inside of the container 1 for 0.3 to 2.0 seconds, forming the coating containing amorphous carbon on an internal surface of the container 10. The parent material mainly contains acetylene.
