PURPOSE: To obtain a composition improved in drawdown resistance, uniformity of wall thickness, and impact strength by mixing an ethylene polymer component and a specified polyolefin.
CONSTITUTION: Ethylene alone or its mixture with other a-olefin is (co) polymerized at 0-200°C under atmospheric pressure to 200atm in the presence of a polymerization catalyst prepared by combining chromium oxide carried on silica or silica-alumina with an organoaluminum compound and in the absence of oxygen and water to give a polymer component (A) having a high- load melt index of 0.5-10g/10min. A copolymer of ethylene and a 3C or higher α-olefin, having a degree of crystallization of at most 30% is grafted at 120-300°C with 0.03-1wt.% α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid (derivative) and 0.001-0.05wt.% organic peroxide to give a modified polyolefin (B). 80-99.8wt.% component A is mixed with 20-0.2wt.% component B to give the composition having a high-load melt index of 0.5-20g/10min.
