PURPOSE: To obtain a polyethylene wax, composed of a specific chemical structure, excellent in strength controlling and oil separation resisting abilities and chemical stability and useful for blending an oily solid material, a cosmetic, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This polyethylene wax is expressed by formula I [R1 is a 1-6C saturated hydrocarbon; R2 to R4 each is a 1-18C aliphatic or an aromatic hydrocarbon; (n) is 10-3001 and has silyl groups at the molecular terminals. Furthermore, the polyethylene wax is obtained by carrying out the living polymerization of ethylene using a 1-6C alkyl-lithium/tertiary diamine-based initiator and then reacting the living terminals of the resultant polyethylene with an organosilicon compound expressed by formula II (X is a halogen or an alkoxy).
