Abstract:

To provide a polymer composition using egg white and/or egg white protein as raw materials, to provide a process for producing the polymer composition and to provide a molded article thereof.

The polymer composition comprises chemically modified egg white protein. The polymer composition is produced by reacting egg white and/or egg white protein with a monomer. The polymer composition has egg white protein in which at least a part of a carboxylic acid group is converted into an ester group. The molded article is produced by molding the polymer composition. The process for producing the polymer composition comprises a step of chemically modifying egg white protein; a step of reacting egg white and/or egg white protein with a monomer; and a step of converting at least a part of a carboxylic acid group in the egg white protein into an ester group.
