PURPOSE: To provide a composition for denture base, spherical particles usable as, e.g. a starting material therefor and a preparative process therefor.
CONSTITUTION: Spherical particles of a methyl methacrylate (co)polymer containing a graft copolymer prepared by grafting a rigid resin component onto a crosslinked rubbery (co)polymer in their insides; a preparative process therefor comprising suspending or dispersing a mixture of a graft copolymer with methyl methacrylate or a monomer mixture containing this monomer or a prepolymer thereof in water and polymerizing the monomer component; a preparative process therefor comprising dispersing a mixture of a methyl methacrylate (co)polymer with a solvent therefor and a graft copolymer in a water phase or a gas phase and removing the solvent from the dispersed mixture; and a composition for a denture base comprising the spherical particles, at least one monofunctional methacrylic ester or a mixture comprising at least one methacrylic ester and at least one polyfunctional methacrylic ester and a polymerization initiator are provided.
