Title:
POLYMERIZATION OF VINYL CHLORIDE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3484741
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an odorless PVC, etc., having excellent initial discoloration, thermal stability, fish-eye and plasticizer absorptivity in high productivity by polymerizing vinyl chloride monomer, etc., with a specific polymerization initiator.
CONSTITUTION: Vinyl chloride monomer or vinyl chloride monomer and a monomer copolymerizable therewith such as ethylene are polymerized by using a polymerization initiator consisting of a di-t-alkyl peroxydiglycolate of the formula [R is a 1-7C alkyl, a cycloalkyl or a (substituted)phenyl] such as di-t-butyl peroxydiglycolate, more preferably a t-butyl peroxyneodecanoate, etc., having a 10hr half-life temperature of 33-60°C in benzene at a concentration of 0.1mol/L.
