Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel crystal polymorph of 9,9-bis[4-(2-hydroxyethoxy)-3-phenyl phenyl]fluorene excellent in heat stability; and to provide a production method thereof.SOLUTION: Crystallization of 9,9-bis[4-(2-hydroxyethoxy)-3-phenyl phenyl]fluorene is carried out from a mixed solvent of water-soluble ketone and water-soluble alcohol, to thereby obtain a crystal polymorph A having each diffraction peak at each diffraction angle 2θ=7.1±0.2°, 14.3±0.2°, 17.0±0.2°, 22.3±0.2° in a powder X-ray diffraction pattern. When the crystal polymorph A is melted and cooled, an amorphous body is acquired.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
