Abstract:
To provide a polynorbornene resin of completely colorlessness and to provide a polynorbornene resin that is vividly colored in any color tone.
The polynorbornene resin is obtained by the bulk ring-opening metathesis polymerization of the norbornene monomer in the existence of the complex catalyst in which a carbene compound containing at least one hetero atom is coordinated with ruthenium. This resin is colorless and a yellow degree is preferably below 10. It is possible that the concentration of ruthenium which the resin contains is below 25 ppm, and if the norbornene monomer is bulk polymerized in the existence of the catalyst and the colorant, the polynorbornene resin colored any color tone can be obtained.
