Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a resin having low shrinkage after curing and excellent shape-retainability and giving an engraving material formable by casting, engraving, cutting, etc., by compounding a modified polyolefin resin to a polyoctenamer resin. CONSTITUTION:The objective polyoctenamer resin composition (and an engraving material composed thereof) is produced by compounding (A) an octenamer resin containing one double bond per 8 carbon atoms, having a molecular weight of 10,000-200,000 (preferably 100,000-120,000) and produced by polymerizing cyclooctene (preferably by metathesis polymerization) with (B) a modified polyolefin (preferably ethylene-ethyl acrylate copolymer, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer or ethylene-glycidyl methacrylate copolymer) at a ratio (A/B) of 98/2 to 10/90 and, as necessary, (C) 20-90wt.% (preferably 50-75wt.%) of an inorganic vapor deposition material (preferably zinc oxide) based on the total weight and (D) a deodorant (e.g. benzaldehyde and hydrogen peroxide), a colorant, etc.
