Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare the polyolefin composition useful as the material for producing the products having more excellent physical- and mechanical properties than those of the conventional products by dispersing a cellulosic material into a crystalline polymer of 1-olefin, which has a specific property.
CONSTITUTION: This polyolefin composition contains at least one crystalline polymer or copolymer of 1-olefin having a Melt index value higher than 20 g/10 min (at 230°C, 2.16 kg, ASTM 1238, in condition L), and a cellulosic material in the form of particles or fiber, which is dispersed in above mentioned polymer or copolymers. The cellulosic material is incorporated into the composition by an amount of about 10-70 wt.%. The wood powders and fibers are preferably used as the cellulosic materials, and their sizes are generally within the range of about 0.01-0.5 mm. Incorporation of 0.1-10 wt.%, based on total weight of the composition, of a compatibilizer into the composition makes it possible to improve further physical-, mechanical- and functional properties of the composition.
