PURPOSE: To provide the titled composition of excellent heat, impact and solvent resistance, molding isotropy and surface gloss of molded articles therefrom, comprising polyphenylene ether and a thermoplastic resin in which vinylcyan compound content is specifically distributed.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition obtained by the polymerization of a monomer mixture consisting of aromatic vinyl compound, vinylcyan compound, and, if required, another copolymerizable vinyl compound in the presence of polyphenylene ether with or without, a rubbery polymer, with the total free polymer in the thermoplastic resin fraction contained comprising (A) 1W50wt% of a polymer component with a vinylcyan compound content 1W10wt%, (B) 1W 70wt% of a second polymer component with said content 10W20wt%, (C) 5W 90wt% of a third polymer component with said content 20W40wt%, and (D) 0W 70wt% of a fourth polymer component with said content ≥40wt%, also with the total vinylcyan compound content falling between 10W40wt%.
